Arizona National

Arizona National Golf Club

Desert golf at its finest

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1996, the golf course is nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains and abutting the Coronado National Forest. It follows the rugged natural flow of the land across shady mesquite-lined arroys and skirts craggy rock outcroppings. Along the way, its diverse 6,785-yard layout will throw enough tough decisions and classic golf-in-the-desert challenges at you to test the very limits of your ability. Yet, it has the flexibility to do so without ever becoming unfair. And, it’s always fun! As compensation for the challenge, you’ll also get to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery of any golf course in the Southwest, including panoramic mountain vistas, forests of giant saguaros, and the rare beauty of nine natural springs. At Arizona National, we have more to offer than just the beautiful golf course. We have received consistent accolades for providing the best guest service in the world, and our facility is equipped with all of the necessary amenities you will need to round out an exceptional golf experience including: a full service pro shop, state-of-the-art teaching and instructional center, exceptional practice facilities, sports bar and restaurant with indoor and outsider lakeview patio dining.

Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Golf Course Architect One of the most celebrated golf course architects of his time, Robert Trent Jones, Jr., is known as the “Frank Lloyd Wright of golf course architecture” because of his ability to design golf courses in harmony with their natural settings. This talent was never more apparent than in the creation of the Arizona National Golf Club. Here, Mr. Jones crafted the golf course so that its contours provide a classic golf experience in the desert without sacrificing the natural beauty or well-being of its Sonoran Desert environment. Prior to the Arizona National Golf Club, Mr. Jones has designed more than 160 golf courses on five continents around the world. Most notable among them; The Links at Spanish Bay, Poppy Hills, Princeville and Wailea Golf Resort. A 1961 graduate of Yale University, Mr. Jones was inducted into the California Golf Hall of Fame in 1991.

Reviews

Course was better than expected. The pro shop is small but very clean and fairly modern. There is a restaurant as well but can't speak to how good the food is. The staff was very friendly. The course was in good shape from tee to green. There are a fair amount of elevation changes and a few holes are a little quirky with forced carries and blind shots. Does require some thought and shot making skills on a few holes as well.

Very pleasing atmosphere. The course is in good shape. Nice spot for lunch, too.

Me and a few buds who are stationed at ft huachuca took a day trip here. Beautiful course. Some dog legs and drops where you can't see the hole. Full bar at the club house. 1 cooler with ice on each cart. Some courses are pretty narrow and there are houses right on the edge of the course, so watch your ball. Overall outstanding course that I will absolutely be returning to.
