Located in North Scottsdale, the 6,973-yard Talon course is one of the highest rated daily-fee golf courses in Arizona, and is included on Golf Magazine’s prestigious list of the “Top 100 You Can Play in the U.S.”
The course also has hosted numerous high-profile golf events including the semi-finals and finals of the Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf; pro ams for the Waste Management Phoenix Open; the Heather Farr Trophy Matches and the Tostito’s Fiesta Bowl Golf Classic. The Talon Course provides breathtaking views of the nearby McDowell Mountains as well as the Phoenix/Scottsdale skyline. And uniquely, Talon’s back nine was built around a series of deep box canyons with a handful of holes skirting steep drop-offs and thick stands of Mesquite, Palo Verde and Ironwood trees. Graham and Panks place a premium on positioning off the tee, but as always, a little extra distance will come in handy. As a design element, the fairways appear smaller than their true size – adding a component of confidence to the scoring equation. Most of the greens are quite large, however, they are multi-tiered which effectively reduces their size. Careful consideration of the day’s pin sheet is required to avoid challenging putts from tier-to-tier. The areas around the greens are typically generous, giving golfers a shot at salvaging par after a wayward approach.

Stretching 7,090 yards from the back tees, the par-72 course unfolds over the gentle hills and across shaded natural washes typical of this picturesque corner of the Sonoran Desert. Typically, Raptor’s fairways are generous, and the greens tend to be large, with a fair amount of undulation. Wayward approaches are duly penalized, as most of the greens are perched above deep bunkers and grass collection areas. Raptor is considered to be one of the finest daily-fee golf courses in Arizona and is listed among the “Best Public Golf Courses in Arizona” by Golf Magazine. No stranger to professional golf events, Raptor was the host site of the 2007-2009 Frys.com Open. Other events include the inaugural Williams World Challenge; the semi-finals and finals of the Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf; Tommy Bahama’s Desert Marlin; Thunderbird International Junior, PGA Junior League Championship and Waste Management Phoenix Open Pro Ams. The NCAA has named The Raptor Course at Grayhawk as the host site for the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s National Championships in 2020-2022.

Great golf experience. Courses were both in fantastic shape with quick greens. Talon course was tighter, felt like it was integrated into the desert. The Raptor course was the better of the two, more classic design and felt like a really nice course in the desert. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I definitely recommend this property.

Ever since I moved here 20 years ago I’ve been a huge fan of everything at Grayhawk, from Phil’s Grill to Quill Creek to Mojos, some of the best food in North Scottsdale. Great salads, amazing Navajo Corn Chowder, everything is good. Highly recommend Grayhawk just because it’s about the best place you can go to get a private club experience without belonging to a private club. Both golf courses are excellent & very challenging.

Having played over 150 Courses in the last 6 Months! Grayhawk is definitely in my top 3 golf course in all of America. What a beautiful, well designed and almost every thing you would expect to see and experience on a golf course! This is a must play when you’re in Scottsdale or Phoenix area golfing! Staff, grounds grew, and services were all extremely accommodating!
