Designed by noted golf course architect Scott Miller, the We Ko Pa Golf Club Cholla course was created to play a challenging 7,225 yards from the back tees, but with multiple tee boxes that are well spaced to cater to players of all calibers. Thirty miles east of Fort McDowell, the Four Peaks rise from the desert floor to an elevation of more than 7,000 feet. The course features an ideal blend of doglegs and straightaway holes, a mix of slender and ample fairways and a good balance between benign and rugged green complexes. Yet without exception, there are plenty of shot-making options and lots of grassy bailout areas when the occasional shot goes awry.
